Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 6, 2026  |  Effective Date: March 6, 2026

🌿  A Note From AEVO

We built AEVO on three pillars: radical honesty, transparency, and consumer trust. That means this Privacy Policy is written to actually be read — not to bury important information in legalese. We want you to understand the types of data we collect, our general purposes for collecting it, and the choices available to you.

If you have any questions at all, please reach out to us at info@aevoafrica.com. We are real people, and we will actually respond.

We know most people don't read privacy policies in full. So here's the honest one-page version:

What we collect

Your name, email, shipping address, payment info (processed by our payment partners), browsing behavior on our site, and device/IP information.

Why we collect it

To process and ship your order, send you emails you asked for, improve our site, run targeted ads (only if you haven't opted out), and comply with the law.

Do we sell your data?

No. We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Under California law, sharing data with ad platforms for targeted advertising may qualify as a 'sale' — and you have the right to opt out of that too.

Who sees your data?

Our store platform, payment processors, email marketing provider, advertising platforms, and fulfillment partners — all operating as service providers under contractual obligations. We do not share data with unrelated third parties.

Your rights

Access, correct, delete your data. Opt out of targeted ads. We honor these requests from consumers in all US states, not just states with laws that require it.

How to exercise rights

Email info@aevoafrica.com or use the link in our website footer. We respond within 45 days.

3.3  Information From Third Parties

  • Shopify: As our store platform, Shopify collects and processes data on our behalf when you check out. See Section 8 for more on our relationship with Shopify.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as social security numbers, driver's license numbers, health or medical data, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. If you voluntarily share this type of information with us (e.g., in a customer service email), we will handle it with extra care and will not use it for marketing or advertising purposes.

You have the right to opt out of this at any time. See Section 7 for instructions.

Data shared for this purpose may include, but is not limited to: email addresses (in hashed form), device identifiers, IP address, and on-site behavioral data captured through advertising pixels and tags.

To the extent practicable and required by applicable law, we will endeavor to provide notice before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

5.5  Aggregated or De-Identified Data

We may share data that has been aggregated or de-identified in a way that cannot reasonably be used to identify you (e.g., "42% of our customers are repeat buyers"). This type of data is not personal information and is not subject to this Policy.

6.  Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Here's what that means in plain English:

Types of Cookies We Use

  • Strictly necessary cookies: These are essential for the website to function. They keep items in your cart, remember your login, and enable checkout. You cannot opt out of these without breaking the site.
  • Analytics cookies: These help us understand how people use our site (e.g., Google Analytics). They do not identify you personally.
  • Marketing & advertising cookies: These are placed by Meta and Google to track conversions and enable targeted advertising. You can opt out of these.

To verify your identity, we may ask you to provide your name, email, and order number. We will never ask for your full payment card number or Social Security number.

8.  Our Relationship With Shopify

Our website is powered by Shopify Inc. Shopify acts as a 'data processor' on our behalf, meaning they process customer data under our instructions and for the purposes we direct. Shopify is not permitted to use your personal information for their own marketing unless you have a separate relationship with Shopify (e.g., a Shop account).

Shopify stores your data on servers primarily located in the United States and Canada, with additional infrastructure in other regions. Shopify is certified under applicable security frameworks and maintains its own privacy policy, available at shopify.com/legal/privacy.

Specific data Shopify processes on our behalf includes:

  • Name, email, phone number, and shipping/billing address (for order processing)
  • Payment information (processed via Shopify Payments or third-party gateways - full payment card data is not stored by us or routed through our servers)
  • Browsing behavior on our store (for fraud analysis and storefront performance)
  • IP address and device information

If you use Shop Pay (Shopify's accelerated checkout), Shopify may store your payment credentials and contact information to speed up future purchases across the Shopify merchant network. This is governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy, not ours.

9.  How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Shopify's PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure for payment card data
  • Access controls ensuring only authorized AEVO personnel can access customer data
  • Regular security reviews of our third-party service providers

No security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable state and federal law.

11.  Children's Privacy

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 for California residents, per the CPRA). If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at info@aevoafrica.com and we will take appropriate steps to address it.

12.  State-Specific Privacy Disclosures

The following sections provide additional information required by specific US state privacy laws. These rights apply in addition to the general rights in Section 7.

12.1  California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), effective January 1, 2023.

Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months:

  • Identifiers (name, email, IP address, account ID)
  • Commercial information (purchase history, browsing/shopping history)
  • Internet or electronic network activity (site interactions, cookie data)
  • Geolocation data (inferred from IP address - not GPS-precise)
  • Inferences drawn from the above (e.g., product preferences)

Categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose in the past 12 months: All of the above were disclosed to our service providers listed in Section 5.

Categories of personal information 'sold' or 'shared' in the past 12 months: Identifiers and internet activity information were shared with Meta and Google for targeted advertising. You may opt out of this using the methods in Section 7.

California residents may also designate an authorized agent to submit a rights request on their behalf by providing written, signed authorization and verification of your identity.

12.2  Virginia, Indiana & Kentucky Residents (VCDPA and 2026 Laws)

Residents of Virginia (Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act / VCDPA), Indiana (Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, effective January 1, 2026), and Kentucky (Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act, effective January 1, 2026) have the rights described in Section 7. These include the right to access, correct, delete, opt-out of targeted advertising, and appeal decisions regarding your rights requests.

12.3  Colorado & Rhode Island Residents

Residents of Colorado (Colorado Privacy Act / CPA, effective July 1, 2023) and Rhode Island (Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act, effective January 1, 2026) have the same rights as described in Section 7. Colorado residents additionally benefit from our recognition of the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out mechanism — we honor GPC signals automatically.

12.4  Nevada Residents

Although Nevada's data protection law (NRS 603A) has a narrower scope than the CCPA, we extend the same opt-out rights to Nevada residents as we do to California residents, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your covered information.

13.  International Visitors

Our website is directed at residents of the United States. If you are accessing our site from outside the US, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers are located and our company operates. Data protection laws in the US may differ from those in your country.

We do not currently offer our products for sale outside the United States. If you are an international visitor and have questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at info@aevoafrica.com.

14.  Links to Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., our social media profiles, Amazon product listings, or press coverage). These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

15.  Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason, including to reflect changes in our business practices, applicable law, or the services we offer. We also reserve the right to update the categories of data we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and the third parties with whom we share it, consistent with applicable legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we will endeavor to:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Provide notice through our website or via email, where reasonably practicable

For non-material changes (such as clarifications, corrections, or administrative updates), we may update this policy without separate notice beyond updating the effective date.

Your continued use of our website following the posting of any changes to this Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the revised Policy, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of our website and services.

16.  Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

This Privacy Policy describes our current data practices in good faith. However, we make no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of any information contained herein.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Aevo Naturals LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website, the collection or use of your personal information, or any unauthorized access to or disclosure of your data.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising under or related to this Privacy Policy shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
  • Nothing in this Policy creates any contractual right enforceable against Aevo Naturals LLC beyond what is required by applicable law.

This Policy is provided for informational purposes and is subject to change. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. If you have specific legal concerns about your privacy rights, we recommend consulting a qualified attorney.
